2010年2月下旬，彭定中先生前往温哥华参加VISA公司的董事会，也受邀观看了正在举行的冬奥会，以下是他想与大家分享的风景和故事。

I came to Vancouver for the Board meeting, and was invited to attend the Winter Olympic games for the first time. Compared with the Beijing Summer Olympic games, this is a much smaller but definitely not less passionate international event. The Olympic flame (cauldron) sitting besides the Vancouver harbor is the symbol of people's passion to spread the Olympic spirit of dedication, excellence, friendship and global inclusiveness to games and beyond...

The roof ceiling you see here are made of the forest wood from the northern British Columbia which was killed by the pine beetles. The huge wasted material after some treatment was reused to build this brand new Olympic stadium.
We have to give lots of credits to the people of Vancouver for their passion and innovation to practice the true Olympic spirit.

Of course, all the big international events like this type would have some of their own unique problems. 2010 Vancouver Olympic was no exception. As a matter of fact, they did face one of the biggest problems a winter game can ever face. Vancouver had a record warm weather in Jan, which did worry all the organizers.

彭先生的文章，总是在结尾处点明全文的主旨。我想灵华的理解正是彭先生想要表达的主旨：我们不但是要在奥林匹克精神的引领下成功举办一场奥运会，我们更需要在奥林匹克精神的引领下维系、运转这个世界。可能这才是奥林匹克精神更深层、更本质的含义。

寒假在家时也曾看过冬奥会的开幕式和部分比赛，为在开幕式前一天在训练时牺牲的运动员惋惜，也为开幕式的别出心裁和浓厚的文化氛围而震动，更为中国在奖牌板上的斩获而高兴和自豪！

运用绿色奥运精神善待环境，奥林匹克精神去善待别人~

看了奥运的那个花样滑冰
真是需要勇气和沉着的心态啊

绿色环保会成为今后大型活动的必然要求。
这次中国队在冬季奥运会上取得历史性突破，再一次给国人鼓舞。我印象最深的运动员是申雪赵宏博，他们着实是不容易啊，被他们的坚定和执着感动

他们的环保实际行动着实让我佩服，屋顶上种草，用废弃的树木做屋顶，尽可能地少建会馆……
中国如今的体育发展事业真的很令人惊喜

“绿色奥运”，不仅警示人们需要保护我们的环境，大概更重要的是呼吁人们要做到“心灵的环保”。对于一个运动员来说，“相互尊重、公平竞争”便是他们“心灵环保”的一个方面。假如在这个世界上有过半的人做到了“心灵环保”，我想我们便“可以在这个地球上和睦相处”了。

加拿大的植被覆盖率很高，这次冬奥会成为绿色奥运也是理所当然的事。 与自然和谐相处，绿色，是这届冬奥会要向人们展示的主题。  气候环境问题，早在哥本哈根气候峰会上就闹得不可开交，最后“草草收场”，我想这次奥运真是要向人们提倡绿色，环保。 人与自然和谐了，才会有可持续发展。  中国需要做的还很多很多。
