六月底我再次穿过這個壯覌的峽谷登上美麗的青藏高原。
In June, I crossed this great canyon and arrived the beautiful Qinghai-Tibet Plateau once again.

髙原上这正是油菜花盛開的季節，在藍天白雲之下，处在天地之間，真令人心曠神怡！
On the high-altitude Plateau, canola flowers were blooming under the blue sky and mellow white clouds. How refreshing to be standing between this heaven and earth!

從2012 年以來這是我第三次到村裏來，很髙興再見到我們髙原上的朋友們，聽到他們的日子過得比以前好了些，也看到他們臉上掛著的比以前多了一分的笑容，叫我倍感欣慰。
This was my third visit to Deman Village since 2012. I was very glad to see my friends on the Plateau. On their faces I saw bigger smiles and from our conversations I learned that they have been leading better lives now compared with the old days.

每次到訪德曼村，村民們男女老幼都熱情的盛裝出迎，讓我們感動至深。
Each time we came, we would be welcomed by many of the villagers regardless of their age and gender. This touched our hearts deeply.

这次青海之行也給我一個機會到訪一個海拔三千公尺的偏遠山區村落鉄朶㮙。沿途風景優美。
I took this opportunity to visit a remote village located in the deep mountains – Tiegaleng village – 3,000 meters above sea level. The view along the journey was amazing!

但是遠在大山之中，交通不便，與外界隔離，村民的生活相當艱苦。
However, villagers’ lives are very hard because the mountains separate them from the rest of the world.

要改変村民的命运，断绝跨代贫困的悪性循环，先要改変村民的思维，而保证所有村里孩子们都享有接受优质教育的公平机会，至关紧要。
For villagers to end the vicious cycle of cross-generational poverty and to take control of their destiny, the first thing we should do is to change their mindsets. Therefore, it is very important that all children in the village are guaranteed fair opportunities to receive a quality education.
在基金会和政府的帮助下，学校的硬件已经慢慢得到解决，铁朶㮙小学刚刚有了新的校舍，教室里面也添了新的桌椅，硬件的建立固然重要，但学校的教育素质其实不取决于学校硬件的素貭上。
With the help from the Foundation and the government, the school’s hardware is being improved gradually. Now, in the new Tiegaleng Primary School are brand new tables and chairs. Although hardware is important, the school’s ultimate educational quality does not depend entirely on the quality of hardware.

教師的素貭才是決定學校教育素貭最重要的因素。而今天在貧困農村普遍存在著師資缺乏的困境。貧困農村的艱苦條件很难吸引在城市畢業的年輕老師願意下鄉教學。
In fact, teachers’ quality is the most important factor determining the ultimate educational quality of the school. Today, the biggest challenge faced by poor rural villages in China is a lack of quality teachers. Not many young teachers educated in cities are willing to teach in poor rural villages. Many are driven away by the harsh conditions there.

讓我驚喜的是在與鉄朶㮙村小的座談會中，我有幸能認識三位年輕的女老師，更藏吉老师、卓玛老师、索南卓玛老师，她們都是剛由城裏的學校畢業不久，然後決定回鄉為下一代的教育做貢獻的。她們的決心和勇氣叫我們由衷敬佩！
In a communication meeting at Tiegaleng Primary School, I was pleasantly surprised to know that three young female teachers – 藏吉老师、卓玛老师、索南卓玛老师 – who just graduated from city schools, have decided to return to their home village to teach and contribute to the education of the next generations. Their determination and courage really deserve our admiration.

当我問及她們是如何作出這個非常了不起，但是也非常困難的重大決定，離開舒適的城市而回到貧困的農村來教育下一代。当她們一位位述說她們的決定的時候，她們最終無法控制住她們辛酸的淚水。我們都為她們的立命重於安身的決心和勇气而深受感動。她们清楚的認識到人生的意义不只是为了安身，讓自己的日子过得更舒适，更是為了立命，讓大山里贫困的孩子们因为遇见她們而生命变得更美好。
When I asked how they came to this remarkable yet difficult decision to leave the comfortable city and return to poor rural village, they could not hold their tears anymore and started crying while telling us their stories. We were all deeply moved by their determination and courage to serve others. These teachers know clearly that the meaning of life is to think beyond making a decent living; the true meaning of life is to do something for others, i.e. to make the lives of the children in deep mountains brighter and better because of themselves.

我在想她們今後的物質生活会相當匱乏，但是她們的精神生活應該是豐富而多彩的。我告訴她們，我最不希望見到的就是她們離開學校回鄉之時就是她們人生知識和能力的最髙峯。從今以後她們就開始慢慢的與時代脫節而落後，虽處窮郷僻壤與外界隔離，但這不應該是她們今後自主學習，自我求進的任何障礙。我承諾幫助她們開始一個自學計畫。當然我也告訴她們，學習是個自我不斷內在化的过程，重在自我，並且貴在堅持內化於心。
Their future material well-being may be dimming, but I believe their spiritual life will be rich and colorful. I told them, the last thing I wanted to see was that they peaked their knowledge and capability right upon their graduation and return to the village. They may become totally separated from the world outside and gradually become out of touch with the times, but this should not be the obstacle stopping their life-long learning and self-advancement. I promised that I would help them start a self-learning program. Of course, I also told them that learning should be a process of continual internalization based on one’s own motivation and perseverance.

在我回來的路上再次経过这雄偉的大山峽谷，当我向山舉目，它讓我想到了这三位女老師淚水後面的勇氣和堅持，在这條漫長且艱巨的路上，它給我們重新帶來了力量！
On the road returning home, I looked at the great canyon and deep mountains again which reminded me the courage and perseverance behind the three female teachers’ tears. This has helped fuel me up once again, marching further along this long and arduous journey!
