Recently I was invited to participate in the celebration ceremony of BROAD 遠大科技's 25th anniversary .

Those of you who visited 远大 a few years ago must still remember the company and its founder and president Mr. 张. He is a man with a great sense of mission and passion and wants to protect lives of people in the world. To protect life by, first, treasuring what the nature provides us. It means to stop wasting any kind of natural resources. Also to protect life by protecting or stop destructing the natural environment. Because if we continue to destruct the natural environment, we will eventually destroy our lives.

几年前，我们的很多同学去参观过远大工业园，你们一定还记得这个公司，以及它的创建人张跃总裁。张跃总裁是一个很有使命感，很有热情的人，他立志要保护人的生命。为了保护生命，首先，要珍惜大自然的馈赠，也就意味着要杜绝对自然资源的浪费。其次，要保护自然环境，停止对它们的破坏。因为如果我们继续破坏自然环境，最终来说，我们会对生命产生破坏。

原文：
This company does not just talk about what they believe, Mr. 张 and his people in 远大 do really practice what they believe in their daily lives. I still remember my first visit to 远大 as a guest of the president. Finished my lunch at the cafeteria and ready to leave. A young waitress at the cafeteria came to me and politely asked me if I could finish the little bit of rice I left on my plate. I was really impressed to learn that the belief of stopping any waste of resources has been so nicely infused in the blood of all the 远大 people. I have to say that experience was one of the very important factors for me to accept the invitation to serve as an independent director of the 远大 Board. In addition to all the efforts made to reduce waste, they have also put a lot of emphasis on waste recycling . As you can see in the picture, they try to classify the domestic waste into 8 categories for the maximum recovery of the waste material.

远大不仅仅是把他们的信念停留在口头上，张跃总裁和他的员工们的的确确在日常的工作和生活中践行“保护生命”的理念。我还记得我第一次作为张跃总裁的客人去参观远大时发生的一个小故事。当时我在他们的员工餐厅吃完午饭，正准备离开时，一位年轻的女服务员走过来，问我是否可以把盘子里剩下的一点米饭吃完。我当时深受触动，杜绝浪费的理念，已经如此深刻地融入远大人的血液中。我必须承认，之后我接受张跃总裁的邀请担任远大的独立董事，这次的经历是促成我作出决定的最重要的因素之一。除了致力于减少浪费，远大也非常强调对垃圾的循环利用。如图所示，他们把垃圾分为八大类，以便最大化地回收利用垃圾中的可循环使用材料。

In my short talk to the 远大 people, I congratulated them for a job well done in the past 25 years in fulfilling their mission of "protecting lives". Looking ahead, In the next 25 years, I encouraged them to reach out to spread their belief to people outside beyond 远大园. Together we can make this world a better place for ourselves, our children and generations to come.
