Came back from a visit to Beida and Tsing Hua. I always enjoy visiting the university campuses and treasure the opportunities to spend time with some young people. It helps me to bring back the sweet memories of my university days many years ago. It also helps me to better understand the thinking of the young people of today. However, most important of all is that it gives me the opportunity to plant seeds in some of the brilliant minds of the potential future leaders of this country.

With that in mind, in 2010 we started the long term cooperation programs with both Beida and Tsing Hua. The programs are to provide the university students and teachers with our poverty alleviation model developed in the past years for them to conduct the case studies. The programs would give the students and teachers the opportunities to visit our bases so they can acquire the first hand understanding and feeling about one of China's most critical social problems today, and the possible solutions which we have implemented in the past years.

前不久我出差去了趟北大和清华。我一直都很喜欢去大学校园里看一看，并且很珍惜和年轻的学生们相处的机会。这些会让我想起很多年前我自己上大学时的美好时光，也让我有机会更好地了解当今年轻人心里的想法。但是，最为重要的是，在大学校园里的这些访问，让我有机会在这些聪明、智慧的年轻人的头脑里播撒下一些希望的种子。他们中的一些人，很可能将来会成为这个国家的领导人。

带着这样的信念，从2010年开始，我们和北大、清华两所院校都开展了一项长期合作的项目。在项目中，两所院校的师生对我们在过去几年所开发的扶贫模式进行案例分析和研究。所以他们研究的课题是贫穷问题，这是当今中国所面临的最迫切的社会问题之一——以及如何解决这一问题的可能的解决方案——在过去的几年里，我们一直在对此进行探索。通过这个项目，师生们得到前往我们的扶贫基地进行访问和考察的机会，从而获得关于所研究课题的第一手的了解和感触。

The reports you see here summarized the good quality of work which they have completed last year. I was also very impressed with their final presentations, and the exchange and sharing with me and my colleagues during my visit. I hope one day when they are in the positions to lead the country, they would understand the real problems before they criticize. They don't just criticize, but can also come up constructive solutions to address the problems. They don't just talk, but can also take actions to implement those solutions. Of course, we know not all the seeds we plant will one day grow to have flowers and fruits. However, we do have the faith that someday somewhere some of the seeds will bring us the flowers and fruits. It's alright with us, even we may not have a chance to see it.

译文：
