2. Still remembered when I was in the elementary school, I had to walk about an hour on bare foot each day to go to school. I did envy those kids wearing nice shoes, and in junior high when I can wear sneakers, I did envy the kids wearing leather shoes. Knowing my mother had tried so hard to provide us with a reasonable comfortable life, I may envy others, but I never complaint. Looking back, I really had a very enjoyable childhood, and am grateful to the cares of my mother all my life.
3. In 素蘭 family, none of you are 官二代 or 富二代. Don’t think you ever want to compare with them and none of you ever 怨天尤人. A very important part of the 素蘭生活大學 process is the summer home visit (家訪). The design was to give all of you an opportunity to realize that you may come from a poor family, but there are kids with a more difficult live than that of yours.
