经过这些年在国内基层工作的覌察，我以为今天我们这个社会最需要建立的有两件事：一个是规范，另一个是公德。当然守规矩和公德心是相互关联的。人们都希望能生活在一个机会分配公平的和谐社会，但是一个没有规范不讲公德的社会，不可能公平，更谈不上和谐。

译文：
Years of working with China’s grassroots have given me opportunities to observe the eminent needs of society,which I believe are the strengthening of two virtues – respect for rules（规范）and caring and consideration for others（公德）. Apparently, both virtues are interconnected. We all wish to live in a fair and harmonious society, and that will not be possible if the society is filled with individuals who are neither respectful for rules, nor caring and considerate for others.

在湖北孝昌田山村，现在的公厕不脏不臭，让我们看到守规范、讲公德所带来的改变。

原文：
规范与公德的建立必需要从改变人们的思维做起，而要改变别人，先要从改变自己开始。因此大概在两年前，我们开始在KGKF，为了长远规范与公德的建立，在与规范公德息息相关的两件每天都需要切实做到的根本要求上彻底下功夫。我们为整个KGKF 的每一个成员立下了一个三百六十五天诚信，安全零事故的指标。要达到这个指标并不容易，我们需要KGKF的每一个人都尽心尽力的把规范与公德在每天的生活中体现出来。

译文：
To make respectfor rules（规范）and caring and consideration for others（公德）the common practices taking roots in a society,we should aim at changing mindsets. And before we go about to influence others,we should set our mindsets right first. Therefore, about two years ago, we started to ask our people at KGKF to work towards complete adherence to two fundamental qualities — integrity（诚信）and safety（安全）— which are intricately linked to the larger societal virtues of respect for rules（规范）and caring and consideration for others（公德）. In practice, all KGKF members strive for the collective achievement of “365 days free of integrity and safety incidence”（365天诚信安全零事故）. To meet this target, we need all KGKF members to dedicate their heart and live their everyday life demonstrating respect for rules and caring and consideration for others.

经过一年多我们基金会三百多位同事的共同努力，我们终于达到了第一个三百六十五天零事故的指标，现在大部分的基地和科目同事都在努力向我们第二亇三百六十五天零事故的目标迈进。

译文：
After one year of persistent efforts by over 300 members of KGKF, we have finally reached the first milestone of “365 days free of integrity and safety incidence” （365天诚信安全零事故）. Now, we are all working hard towards reaching the second milestone of “365 days free of integrity and safety incidence” （365天诚信安全零事故）.

原文：
我们在作改变自己思维的努力之后，也䦕始对改变周边的人在规范与公德的建立上作出努力。在这样的努力下，最近我们在湖南保靖基地完成了这样一个规范与公德建立小小的成功案例。

译文：
Soon after we paid efforts to setting our own mindsets right, we have started to spread this influence to people around us.In this spirit, we concluded a rather successful case in our Hunan Baojing base,exemplifying through our work the strengthening of respect for rules（规范）and caring and consideration for others（公德）in broader society.

原文：
其实规范与公德建立的根本动力是来自对别人的关爱，除了利己之外，更是利他，除了小我，更需要超越小我建立在大我之上。当这个社会大部分的平凡人都有这样的思维观念，每天都做一点有规范有公德的小事，由于这些平凡的小事所带来的小改变的累积，我们深信一个公平和谐的社会的到来指日可待。

译文：
In fact, the cultivation of respect for rules（规范）and caring and consideration for others（公德）is driven by genuine concern for others’ interest. This mindset goes beyond egoistic self-interest and is built on the pursuit of common good. When most ordinary people practice this mindset and let the virtues shine in their daily lives, we believe that a fair and harmonious society is no longer far-fetched, because many a little makes a mickle.
