Many years ago there was a very old movie called "Eighty Days Around the World 環遊世界80天".  I think the story was set in the days when airplane was not even invented. It took people eighty days to travel around the world on a hot balloon. Recently, for both business and personal reasons, I made a trip around the world in ten days, of course by airplanes.

译文：
很多年以前，有一部老电影叫做《环游世界80天》。我想这种故事是发生在飞机发明之前的那个年代的。那时候人们乘坐热气球环游世界的话，需要80天的时间。前段日子，因为一些公事以及私事的缘故，我也作了一次环球旅行。我的这次环球之旅历时10天，当然是坐飞机完成的。

I left Hong Kong on Jan 25th.  Took a post-midnight Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong, arrived London early morning the same day . It was a very cold Friday morning in London.

我于1月25日凌晨（即午夜时分）乘坐国泰航空的航班飞离香港，于同一天的清晨抵达伦敦（伦敦当地时间）。那是一个非常寒冷的星期五早上。

As you know, Pittsburgh is Mother's resting place. I came to visit her on a frozen winter day to tell her that our 素蘭 family has been growing bigger and closer together. You have all been doing well and living the Sulan spirit.  Sulan now in its 11th year, has grown in many ways that she would be very proud to see.

From Pittsburgh I took another American Airline flight first to Dallas Texas, then transferred to the sunny city of San Francisco.

Finished all my business in the United States, looking out from the hotel window, the sunset of the San Francisco Bay was extremely beautiful. On Jan 31 I took a Japan Airline flight and left San Francisco for Tokyo.

Left Tokyo on Feb 3rd to conclude the last leg of my 10-days-around-the-world trip. My little grandson didn't want me to leave. He cried so hard when I said goodby and boarded the Cathay Pacific flight to return to Hong Kong.

With the modern telecommunication and transportation technology, the world is indeed getting smaller and smaller. What is happening on the other side of the globe will quickly have an impact on us. As I mentioned to you previously, you need to cultivate an interest in and pay attention to what's happening in the rest of the world and start to develop a global perspective even when you are still a students.

译文：
2月3日，我乘坐国泰航空的航班飞离东京返回香港，结束了我这历时10天的环球之旅。当我登机前和我的小外孙说再见时，小家伙不想让我离开，哭得特别厉害。

随着通讯技术的日益发达和交通条件的日益便利，世界真的在变得越来越小。在地球另一端所发生的事情，很快就可以影响到地球这一端的我们。就像我以前和你们说过的，即便是在学生阶段，你们也要学着关注世界局势，注意培养自己的全球视野。

很劳碌的十来天,美丽的景色、看望母亲、看望外孙......给这次旅行增添了许多趣味和意义。

”随着通讯技术的日益发达和交通条件的日益便利，世界真的在变得越来越小。在地球另一端所发生的事情，很快就可以影响到地球这一端的我们。就像我以前和你们说过的，即便是在学生阶段，你们也要学着关注世界局势，注意培养自己的全球视野。”

——“勿论国事”多少成为了许多平民百姓或者青年学生的“口头禅”,看来并不恰当。不仅论国事，全球局势亦然。大处着眼，小处着手。

科技发达了，世界越来越小了

嗯，只有具有全球才能不在全球化的大浪潮中被吞没

  现在开始实习做资讯，每天盯着电脑刷新闻，觉得世界如此之小，每天地球上都有那么多的事发生，相隔万里却可以在转瞬明悉。而且，每天都可能有改变我们生活的创造出现。
  从这些安排看来，彭先生的行程十分紧密，希望彭先生能照顾好自己的身体。

彭先生和小孩的时光一定是很美好的。
关注国家大事也是我们的责任，现在我感觉自己和身边的事联系太密切了。关注多了，很多时候自己会想着自己能在哪些方面可以去改变？世界小了，而我们的心，要装得下更多的世界。

小朋友好可爱！

每次读彭先生的文章，都会注入一种新的视觉。关注世界，拓宽视野，似乎从来没有如此亲密的感受过。

全球视野，想起彭先生的话：那些农民一旦了解了电脑，眼睛亮起来就闭不上了。我们视野也灰暗不起来了

上周三才见先生，但是恍惚已经过去了好久。说实话，每次和先生说再见，在香格里拉酒店外的那个十字路口，先生和我们握手的时候，都好舍不得好难过。只希望先生一定一定要注意多休息，养好身体，您是我们大家的牵挂。看到先生写的去素兰女士墓地那一段，真的很感动，我们一定会好好努力，不一定成为一个伟大的人，但一定会做一个好人，先生放心。
